Pharmacies in Myeongdong and Namdaemun Market now pitch to visitors with pharmacy-sold creams and skincare, alongside the medicines only a pharmacy can sell.
Two different things sit on the same counter. Some products are cosmetics, such as pharmacy-brand creams. Others are over-the-counter medicines that Korean law allows only pharmacies to sell.
Ask the pharmacist which is which, read the leaflet, and keep medicines in their original box when you travel.
